The AxyPrep Plasmid Midipreis based upon a modified SDS-alkaline lysis of bacterial cells in combination with lysate filtration and selective binding of the plasmid DNA to special AxyPrep purification columns. The yield of plasmid for this Kit is up to 100 µg. This Kits can also be used to isolate large constructs, such as BAC, PAC and P1. The protocols provide a simple, rapid and efficient method for the isolation of highly purified plasmid DNA. The entire preparation process can be completed in 30 minutes. Plasmid prepared by this method can be used immediately for many routine applications requiring highly purified plasmid DNA, such as, DNA sequencing, restriction digestion, in vitro transcription, library screening, ligation and bacterial transformation.
