VIASURE Gastrointestinal Panel II Real Time PCR Detection Kit is designed for the specific identification and differentiation of Salmonella, Campylobacter and/or Shigella/EIEC; Aeromonas and/or Yersinia enterocolitica; Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC), Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC), Enteropathogenic Escherichia coli (EPEC) and/or Enteroinvasive Escherichia coli (EIEC)/Shigella; Enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC) and/or Enteroinvasive E. coli (EIEC)/Shigella; Clostridium difficile; Clostridium difficile Toxin B; Cryptosporidium, Giardia lamblia and/or Entamoeba histolyica; and/or Blastocystis hominis and/or Dientamoeba fragilis in human stool samples from patients with signs and symptoms of gastrointestinal infection.
This test is intended for use as an aid in the diagnosis of Salmonella, Campylobacter and/or Shigella/EIEC; Aeromonas and/or Y. enterocolitica; EHEC, STEC, EPEC and/or EIEC/Shigella; ETEC and/or EIEC/Shigella; C. difficile; Toxin B; Cryptosporidium, G. lamblia and/or E. histolyica; and/or B. hominis and/or D. fragilis infection in combination with clinical and epidemiological risk factors.
DNA are extracted from stool specimens, multiplied using Real Time amplification and detected using specific primers and a fluorescent reporter dye probe for Salmonella, Campylobacter and Shigella/EIEC; Aeromonas and Y. enterocolitica; EHEC, STEC, EPEC and EIEC/Shigella; ETEC and EIEC/Shigella; C. difficile; Toxin B; Cryptosporidium, G. lamblia and E. histolyica; and B. hominis and D. fragilis.
