Neurobasal-A medium without D-glucose and sodium pyruvate is used to support the growth of post-natal CNS neurons in applications where the presence of D-glucose and sodium pyruvate can cause interference. For neural studies that require the absence of insulin, glucose, and sodium pyruvate, such as glucose response or insulin response studies, we recommend Gibco B-27 Supplement Minus Insulin as a supplement to this medium
