The ChargeSwitch® gDNA Normalized Buccal Cell Kit uses magnetic bead-based technology to allow rapid and efficient isolation of genomic DNA from human buccal swabs in less than 15 minutes after lysate preparation.
The ChargeSwitch® gDNA Normalized Buccal Cell Kit allows purification of genomic DNA from human buccal cell swabs or pelleted cells from a mouthwash in less than 15 minutes after lysates preparation. ChargeSwitch® gDNA Normalized Buccal Cell Kit uses magnetic beads with a unique, ionizable functional group whose affinity for nucleic acids is pH-dependent to facilitate nucleic acid purification. High-quality genomic DNA is purified at a normalized concentration of 1-3 ng/ µl in a total volume of 150 µL by eliminating the need for lengthy quantitation and dilution steps. Samples can be stored for up to 2 weeks at 4°C before processing without a noticeable loss in DNA yield or quality.
Note: DNA yield varies and is dependent on several factors including the technique of the person taking the swab, whether the donor is a high or low shedder, and the type of swab used.
