Features

• S-Monovette® Lithium, Sodium or Ammonium Heparin LH, NH, AH contain lithium, sodium or ammonium heparin as an anticoagulant for plasma collection. The plastic granules coated with lithium, sodium or ammonium heparin (generally 16 I.U. heparin/ml blood) form a layer between the blood cells and the plasma during centrifugation. In the S-Monovette® Lithium Heparin with heparin in liquid form (generally 19 I.U. heparin/ml blood), the lithium heparin is in spray dose form.
• In addition to the plastic granules, Lithium Heparin Gel S-Monovettes contain a polymer-based gel that forms a stable separating layer between the blood cells and the plasma during centrifugation on account of its density and serves as a barrier during sample transportation and storage.
• Lithium Heparin Gel+ S-Monovettes (25 I.U. heparin/ml blood) also contain a polymer-based gel that makes it possible to reduce centrifugation time by approx. 50% compared to standard Heparin Gel S-Monovettes. Heparin activates antithrombin, which inhibits the coagulation cascade and produces a so-called whole blood/plasma sample.
• The plasma in the S-Monovette ® Heparin (Gel / Gel+) is used as a sample material in routine clinical/chemical analyses.
• NOTE: The S-Monovette ® Lithium Heparin (Gel / Gel+) may not be used for lithium investigations, the S-Monovette® Ammonium Heparin may not be used for ammonium investigations and the S-Monovette® Sodium Heparin may not be used for sodium investigations.
