Features

• The plastic granules coated with lithium, sodium or ammonium heparin (generally 16 I.U. heparin/ml blood) form a layer between the blood cells and the plasma during centrifugation.
• In the S-Monovette® Lithium Heparin with heparin in liquid form (generally 19 I.U. heparin/ml blood), the lithium heparin is in spray dose form.
• In addition to the plastic granules, Lithium Heparin Gel S-Monovettes contain a polymer-based gel that forms a stable separating layer between the blood cells and the plasma during centrifugation on account of its density and serves as a barrier during sample transportation and storage.
• Lithium Heparin Gel+ S-Monovettes (25 I.U. heparin/ml blood) also contain a polymer-based gel that makes it possible to reduce centrifugation time by approx. 50% compared to standard Heparin Gel S-Monovettes. Heparin activates antithrombin, which inhibits the coagulation cascade and produces a so-called whole blood/plasma sample.
• The plasma in the S-Monovette ® Heparin (Gel / Gel+) is used as a sample material in routine clinical/chemical analyses.
• NOTE: The S-Monovette ® Lithium Heparin (Gel / Gel+) may not be used for lithium investigations, the S-Monovette® Ammonium Heparin may not be used for ammonium investigations and the S-Monovette® Sodium Heparin may not be used for sodium investigations.
