Applied Biosystems™ VetMAX™ MastiType Multi Kit

The VetMAX MastiType Multi Kit enables rapid, accurate detection of 15 mastitis-causing pathogens and one penicillin-resistance gene in bovine milk. These 16 markers are detected using real-time PCR amplification of DNA unique to each pathogen in four separate reactions.

• MastiType Master Mix: contains a Hot Start DNA polymerase in an optimized PCR buffer with magnesium and dNTPs: 4 x 1.2 mL 
• MastiType Positive Control: a positive control for the PCR reaction components: 1 x 440 μL 
• MastiType Multi Primer Mix 1: includes primers for multiplex PCR amplification of Staph. aureus, M. bovis, Enterococcus spp. (incl. E. faecalis and E. faecium), Corynebacterium bovis, and an Internal Amplification Control (IAC): 1 x 550 μL 
• MastiType Multi Primer Mix 2: includes primers for multiplex PCR amplification of Staphylococcal ß-lactamase gene (penicillin-resistance gene), E. coli, Strep. dysgalactiae, Mycoplasma spp, and an Internal Amplification Control (IAC): 1 x 550 μL 
• MastiType Multi Primer Mix 3: includes primers for multiplex PCR amplification of Staphylococcus spp. (including all major CNS), Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus uberis, Prototheca spp: 1 x 550 μL 
• MastiType Multi Primer Mix 4: includes primers for multiplex PCR amplification of yeast, Serratia marcescens, Klebsiella oxytoca and/or K. pneumonia, Trueperella pyogenes and/or Peptoniphilus indolicus: 1 x 550 μL
